About the organisation:
Global Village Cambodia is a non-profit organisation focusing on arts education in Cambodia. The goal is to revive the country’s traditional culture and to further students’ ability to engage with the international community.
Samlout High School, home to a thousand students in grades seven to twelve, is at the centre of a pilot project to introduce music education at an existing school in a war-torn region. The project is based on an alliance with the school's teachers and on working with indigenous musicians.
‘By working together with Cambodians in introducing music at one of the fastest growing schools, we are setting an example of music education uplifting a region, a school, and its students for generations to come.’
—Mathias Aspelin, Founder
